Greenscreen Workshop

This is Eddy and Estefania's greenscreen workshop. I had to use this video because me and my partners edited files got lost somewhere. In order to edit a greenscreen you need to open Adobe After Effects. Once in the after affects import desired picture to replace greenscreen. Search "keylight" in effects and presets panel. After you need to choose the dropper in the panel to turn the screen from green to black. Then you need to change the view to screen matte and raise screen gain amd balance which eliminates the light areas in the greenscreen. Swith the view to the final view and drag desired picture into the lower panel. Make sure to fix the picture by scaling it to where you want it and when you feel you are done, export. When filming with a greenscreen it is important to consider positioning and lighting. Some problems that could arise when editing a greenscreen is that the screen may not be positioned right and when editing the video, you will be able to seee those spots that are outside of the range. Also lighting needs to be right or else body parts may be cut off while editing. Between premiere pro and adobe after effects, I found adobe after effects to be easier to use for editing purposes.

Navajo and Iroqouis Traditions and Reflection

1.After reviewing the comments I made on other videos I feel that the video couldve been a lot more creative by adding titles in the beginning and sound. I did all of the final editing and had limited time. If I had gotten help from my partner that would have been nice and appreciated. Due to the limit of time I was not able to add in credits and copyright. I think the overall message of the video was well presented.
2.I really would have liked to add music because it adds attracts attention and appeals to senses. I also thought it was a good idea when people were together in videos because they seemed more informative.
3.In the process of making the script I gave input on what to put in the script. I also helped look for background pictures and helped when editing the greenscreen.
4.I dont feel like I had too much support from my partner with this project. Like I said I did all of the final editing with limited time. My partner did upload the video,do the editing for the greenscreen background and put input for the script. I think its important to have help and input from partners with projects like this.
5. If I had a chance to re do this project I would add credits and spend a lot more time on it with my partner. The creativity level would be a whole lot better.

What I learned from other videos...

What I learned from this video is that getting personal stories can really be relatable for students. I think this group did really well with getting input from people outside of their group. For example the interview at the beginning of the video about the girl who was bullied in middle school really brought out the personal and emotional effects that people feel when they feel bullied. I thought it was cool how someone from their group composed their own music for the group to use. The arrangement of scenes also brought the whole video together. The transitions between students and Mrs. Lomanto showed the relavance of opinions.

What I learned from other videos...

What I learned from this video was that music and different elements make a video a lot more interesting. It keeps the audiences focus. Throughout the video there is music and the edit is welll done. While interviews are going on the music in the background lowers itself in order to hear the people speaking in the video. I also learned that you need to manage your time properly in order to get an outstanding video. It is obvious that eddy and his group spent a bunch of time editing. Hence the outcome of a very great video.

Cyberbullying Project

On November 15th my groups video was presented to the class. We got a lot of good feedback from our classmates on what we could do differently. Our video could be improved greatly. To be honest my group and I were very rushed to finish and couldve done more to make the video interesting. We ran into complications which backed us up a little. We could have incorporated music and interviews from other people. The video itself was informational but bland. I think we couldve broken up the video to where there was not just me and someone else talking;more variety. The video was a bit long and hard to hear. I think my group and I need to pick out the most important clips and work with what we have because we dont have anymore time to film. I am proud of my group for putting in their effort and time into the video. Jessica and Alexis did an amazing job on the credits. To be honest I was not as involved as I shouldve been; I couldve been there for my group a lot more. We all worked well together and we hope for the best on our final video. We need to come together and do as much as we can.

Titles Workshop

This is an example of an opening title, which means it is at the beginning of the clip. You might use this kind of title when introducing a video.

Lifting and Extracting

A simple cut in the timeline means that you cut out a certain point and a gap is left. When you cut, the other clips in the timeline are deleted.
A ripple edit is when you cut a clip but nothing is deleted; everything moves over. You do this by setting an in and out point in the clip you wish to cut then you press right click then select ripple delete. When you ripple delete, the other clips to the right of the deleted clip will shift over.
Lifting and extracting are two ways to cut a clip at one time. To do this, you go to premiere pro and place clips in a location that makes sense.
Lifting is like moving, while extracting is like deleting, in terms of what happens to the other clips in the timeline.
This is an example of an lifting and extracting edit. I decided to combine the two clips where I did because it shortens the time and goes straight into whats going on.

Insert Edit

This is an example of an insert edit. An insert edit places a clip in a certain point of a video without deleting any part of second clip. To do this, you place the clip at a point that doesnt throw the video off. I decided to place the 2nd clip where I did because it showed the emotion of the person of the video before she jumps with her horse. You would use an overlay when you want to replace a certain clip in a video, while you’d use an insert edit to bring two clips together. The difference between an overlay and an insert edit is that an overlay replaces and an insert joins. In this case the insert edit works better because it keeps the whole clip.

Overlay Edit

This is an example of an overlay edit. An overlay edit places a clip into another clip in order to replace it. To do this, you edit the first clip and set it into the second clip to an appropriate section. I decided to overlay the 2nd clip where I did because it matched up to what was going on in the video.

SBHS Student Life

I think I am getting way better at my computer and editing skills.I did a good job of working with my partner and giving feedback on editing ideas. Im happy with the way our video came out because it showed how Jessica and I worked well together. I should have followed instructions better because it wouldve made things so much easier. If I could do this project over I would make a folder for my partner and I so that finding our file wouldnt be as hard. On my next project, I need to remember to follow every single instruction. On my next project, I would like to learn how to incorporate music into a clip.
One way I helped my partner was to upload our video onto youtube and blog. My partner helped me by giving me feedback on editing ideas and keeping me on task. I gained a better idea on how to edit videos without too much help. Jessica and I worked together to figure things out. One challenge we faced was not being able to find our video because we didnt create our own folder. We faced our challenge by asking Mr.Actherman for advice. All in all, this was a fun project and I learned something from it.

Introduction

Reflection:
I really enjoyed doing this project. I learned how to edit a video using premiere pro. I liked how I was able to add or delete things. I hope next time I will be able to edit sound and add music and other elements to make more entertaining videos. My partner was way more computer savy and I really enjoyed his help. I helped my partner stay on task and manage the importing. He helped me make decisions and he helped me stay patient with the technology. We had trouble uploading the video to youtube but we figured things out and everything was successful in the end. I like visual outlines of things and I think this was fun and I learned something new.

Patience

The message of this video was to always have patience with others, think positively and to be happy. The man who is smoothing out the cements face and his reaction to the little boys actions really communicates the message because you can see his expressions. I think the addition of the little boy adds to the innocence. The man kept his composure and it showed how respectful he was and his patience. The little boy also adds a cute effect; I know I wouldnt be able to yell at the little boy because he has this good vibe. The cameras focus, music and the sound effects also add to the overall meaning of the message.
